Skill Points - Guild Wars Forums

So I worked my way to lvl 20, then made it past lvl 20 to where I presumed I was supposed to get the skill points I earned through missions and lvling, but I didnt get any more skill points. What gives please explain.

I tried asking my guild but they just laughed at me so I left them.

You get skill points from the following:

1. Every level past lvl 20 you get 1 skill point
- every 15K xp I believe

2. Completing mission's that you get xp from, you will get skill points from them..

In Nightfall & Faction's..

1 skill point for normal completion,
1 skill point for expert
1 skill point for master's

In Prophecies - 1 skill point for completion.
- according to GW Wiki, no skill points from completing bonuses in Prophecies

If you have already completed a mission, you won't get any more skill points from re-doing that mission - unless you only completed standard/expert and re-do it and achieve expert/masters, then you will get the skill point(s) for completing the extra bonuses.

Also note, you won't get skill points for completing mission's that are prior to where you enter the storyline - ie a faction's/nightfall character going to do the prophecies section will NOT get any skill points from completing the mission's prior to Lion's Arch (ie Great Northern Wall, Fort Ranik, etc).

If your doing mission's that you are getting xp for and/or getting the 15K xp after lvl 20 and getting no skill points, then there's something wrong.. and you should most likely consider contacting GW support for assistance.

The skill points you earn for doing Missions and quests are rewarded yo you upon completion of the Mission/Quest. But now that you've reached level 20, you'll not only recieve Skill points as rewards for doing things, you'll also gain a skill point every time you gain 15,000 XP. (Tracked using your level progress bar.)

Good call on leaving that guild. There's no call for treating anyone like that, let alone a guildie!

Hopefully, you are not confusing skill points and attribute points. You can only get a maximum of 200 attribute points to spread between your attributes http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Attribute_point

Once you have the max, there are no more awarded.

I did get past lvl 20 and didnt get anymore skill points for passing lvl or for completing missions. Thats just it. I didnt get my skill points I should have got. I made the 15,000 xp past lvl 20, I didnt get my skill points. I think I hit a glitch.

I was still getting skill points lastnight so if its a problem its new or limited to you.

If you mean attribute points (which I think you do) then it's working fine. You don't get more attribute points after 20.

Submit a ticket to Anet - so far the only people that have ever had that problem didn't know what was going on.

I highly suspect you just missed something along the way. Complete a *new* mission and check it again, I would try an add in a before and after screen. One with your Hero panel open just before completing the mission and one just after (the second with the green text that tells you your rewards visible).

Of course, this can be faked into something that looks like a bug - however that is usually too much effort and if it is *really* a bug this should show that something is wrong through their logs (that is - they can see that you didn't fake anything and didn't get your skill point). If you just aren't receiving them from leveling up the take the same screens - one before and one after (with the green text visible in the second)

There is little anyone here can do, though the automated response from a ticket will tell you to post it to the forums.

skill points - you get one every 15k or so exp beyond L20 - to see your total press "h"
If it is attribute points, there are two quests, each awarding 15 att. points you need to do to get points above 170. these differ based on campaign.
This game is not broken.
